Jason has over 20 years’ experience as a corporate and finance lawyer. Jason understands his clients’ goals and gets the deal done – he is adept at identifying and resolving any issues before they become problems, so that the transaction can close as quickly as possible with as little stress for his clients as possible.

Jason’s banking and finance practice includes advising on all types of secured financing arrangements. Jason drafts and negotiates loan and security documents for the financing of property developments and acquisitions of shares and properties. This can range from short term bridging finance to long term loans, either with a single lender or a more complicated senior and mezzanine lending structure. Jason works with his clients and the parties on the other side of any deal to create solutions that work for all, to progress the deal to closure as soon as possible.

As a corporate lawyer, Jason advises on all stages of buying and selling businesses or shares in companies, working with his clients and their tax advisers from the outset to help structure the deal properly and then get all documents in place. Jason drafts and negotiates management agreements as well as joint venture and partnership agreements – with specific expertise in property joint venture arrangements and property development structures. With a real estate background, Jason works with our real estate lawyers to advise on various corporate aspects of property transactions and advises property investors on joint ventures and development projects.

Jason has acted over many years for major players across the leisure, hospitality and retail sector (from hairdressers to restaurateurs) and the service industry (from media and public relations companies to software developers).

In the lending sphere, Jason’s clients range from private lenders (including family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, pension funds and private lending houses), local and international banks and other institutional lenders as well as niche and bridging lenders. Jason’s borrower clients include individuals, private companies and offshore companies, mainly property investors and developers.

Jason’s clients appreciate him being a problem solver; he takes a direct, straight-speaking approach to ‘cut through the chaff’ and get to the heart of a matter to get it resolved.

His advice is pragmatic and Jason will find a drafting solution that fits the situation his client is facing, rather than a ‘cookie-cutter’ approach that some lawyers prefer. One size does not fit all, and sometimes creative drafting solutions are needed to resolve an impasse in negotiations.
